A note from the Principal

A note from the Principal
Dear Parents,
We have reached the end of Term 2A, and what a busy and productive half term it has been! Our students have continued to work hard and make progress in their studies, and we are very proud of their achievements. As we head into mid-term, we hope that our families will have the chance to rest and recharge, ready for the remainder of the academic year.
As part of our ongoing efforts to support high-quality
education, I have had the privilege of visiting Amnuay Silpa School this week.
In addition to the valuable insights gained from the visit, it was also a great
experience to share ideas and knowledge with the school's leadership team.
Building networks and collaborating with other educational institutions is an
important aspect of improving education for all our students.
Another highlight of this week was the Tiger Cats Dance Challenge. This highly
anticipated event brought together dance teams from across Primary and
Secondary, as well as other schools, to showcase their talent and creativity.
With over 40 high-quality performances, the event was a celebration of all
forms of dance and an testament of the hard work and dedication that goes into
perfecting and performing a routine.
This week, the weather has been rather unusual, with a heavy
storm on Wednesday. We hope that this improves for the holidays, so that all
our families can enjoy their break without any disruptions. Thank you for your continued support and we
look forward to seeing our students back at school on Monday, 27 February!
Proud of you Patana!
Sarah McCormack
Wellbeing
Safeguarding at the end of the school day
If you are unable to collect your child you can ask a neighbour or friend to help to take your child home. We have some new safeguards in place to make sure that the children are safe.
If you would like your child to be collected by another adult please ensure:
- You email the class teacher or Leader of learning and welfare (dijo@patana.ac.th) please copy in reception@patana.ac.th
- The class teacher will ensure that Main Reception know who is taking the child out of school. Reception staff will then be ready to help if there is a query from Security.
- The collecting adult and the child/ren may only leave via Main Reception. No other gate.
Residential
As the resi gets closer the excitment and a few worries start to surface. This is totally normal and your child may well have some questions. In the first two weeks after half term the residential becomes a focus of learning in PSHE and we have an assembly so the children know what to expect and are made fully aware of all the fun they will have whilst away!
If you are keen to ensure your child has the correct kit for the residential please find the packing list below.
Learning
This Term the childen will be learning about Inventions. This is a very exciting unit of learning revolving around the creativity of Rube Goldberg. Please see the curriculum pages here patana.fireflycloud.asia/year-3/year-3-curriculum/term-2-discovering-our-world
Global Citizenship
Thomas House
Thomas house is the charity which Y3 supports. Before Christmas we had a collection of games and art supplies very generously donated by our Y3 students and parents. The children and staff at Thomas house are incredibly grateful.
The staff of Thomas house and some Year 12 Patana students (visiting as part of a IB Geography river studies trip) used the paints we sent to create a lovely mural.
General Information
School photographs
Order forms were sent home with your child on Thursday 16th February if they were in school. If they were absent, class teachers will keep them until your child returns unless you request otherwise.
U smile will collect the order forms at school between 27th February to 3rd March (7:00am – 3:30pm).
PTG fun day!
Birthdays
Please ensure any snack or Birthday cakes/doughnuts that come into school are nut free. This is to ensure we are keeping all our students safe as we have some students in the Y3/4 Building who have severe nut allergies. Thank you for your help with this.
