This week, our Key Stage
2 students continue with their residential trips. After a short hiatus, it has
been fantastic to get our students out again and there was much excitement as
we waved them off on the buses on Monday and Tuesday.
Experiences outside the classroom have a profound impact on students' growth
and development, and they can provide opportunities for them to learn new
skills, build relationships, and broaden their horizons. It’s been an action-packed
week for sure and I suspect there will be lots of tired friends (and teachers)
this weekend!
Across the school, it has been notably quiet with so many of our students away
on camp. I have especially noticed this in the Primary canteen, where I have
lunch daily. I love this part of my routine, as it’s an opportunity for me to
informally chat with the children; to gently observe the comings and goings of
our lunch time experience; and to enjoy the menu on offer. As a vegetarian, I
am particularly pleased when it is vegetable lasagne day!
Wishing you a wonderful
weekend.

Wellbeing
Safeguarding at the end of the school day
if you are unable to collect your child you can ask a neighbour or friend to help to take your child home. We have some new safeguards in place to make sure that the children are safe.
If you would like your child to be collected by another adult please ensure:
You email the class teacher or Leader of learning and welfare (dijo@patana.ac.th) please copy in reception@patana.ac.th
The class teacher will ensure that Main Reception know who is taking the child out of school. Reception staff will then be ready to help if there is a query from Security.
The collecting adult and the child/ren may only leave via Main Reception. No other gate.
ECA Information
ECAs will resume next week.
Please remind your children which ECA they have at the end of each day. The class teachers will also remind them to help ensure they get to the right places!
Monday 13th February 2023 ECA programme commences
Friday 31st March 2023 ECA programme finishes.
Residential
As the resi gets closer the excitment and a few worries start to surface. This is totally normal and your child may well have some questions. In the first two weeks after half term the residential becomes a focus of learning in PSHE and we have an assembly so the children know what to expect and are made fully aware of all the fun they will have whilst away!
If you are keen to ensure your child has the correct kit for the residential please find the packing list below.
This Term the childen will be learning about Explorers. This is a very exciting unit of learning revolving around the adventures of Ernest Shackleton and his crew. If you would like to find out more about our learning please take a look at the curriculum pages here patana.fireflycloud.asia/year-3/year-3-curriculum/term-2-discovering-our-world
Please ensure any snack or Birthday cakes/doughnuts that come into school are nut free. This is to ensure we are keeping all our students safe as we have some students in the Y3/4 Building who have severe nut allergies. Thank you for your help with this.
