A note from the Principal
A note from the Principal
Dear parents,
Welcome back after the holidays!
We hope you and your families had a wonderful break and are ready for the term ahead. This week, we have welcomed 40 new students to our school and we're excited for them to be a part of our community.
We have many exciting opportunities and challenges ahead of us this half term, including the upcoming Y4-Y6 student residential trips at the end of January. These trips will provide valuable experiences and learning opportunities for our students and we encourage you to discuss the details with your child and support them in preparing for this exciting experience.
As we move forward in this term, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to support you and your children in making this a successful and enjoyable term. We look forward to the many exciting opportunities that this term will bring, and we appreciate your support and cooperation in making this a successful one for all the students in the school!
Proud of you Patana!Sarah McCormack
Wellbeing
Please ensure that your child is here at 7:30, ready to come in with the rest of their class. It can be very upsetting for some children when there are late arrivals, not just for those who are late. It is important that the class have the opportunity to start the day together and that all students know what the day has in store for them. We use the mornings for hearing reading, responding to feedback and, in some classes, there are specialist sessions that happen first thing. Your support with ensuring all children have these opportunities is much appreciated.
Learning
This Term the childen will be learning about Explorers. This is a very exciting unit of learning revolving around the adventures of Ernest Shackleton and his crew. If you would like to find out more about our learning please take a look at the curriculum pages here patana.fireflycloud.asia/year-3/year-3-curriculum/term-2-discovering-our-world
PE
Please note that the start of term will be Try a New Sport for the first 2 weeks, before moving to new activities on the dates below.
For Try a new Sport, all students will require Patana PE kit, a sunhat and water bottle. They will have the option to choose some new sports to try during their PE lessons.
TGNFU (Net Games), Gymnastics and Dance = Patana PE kit and water bottle.
Striking and Fielding = Patana PE kit, sunhat and water bottle

Please ensure any snack or Birthday cakes/doughnuts that come into school are nut free. This is to ensure we are keeping all our students safe as we have some students in the Y3/4 Building who have severe nut allergies. Thank you for your help with this.
