On Wednesday, 1st October, our Year 3 Student Council shared some exciting and important messages about Tiger Spirit Day during our Year 3 assembly. The year 3 students also learned about Thomas House, our Year 3 charity partner, and how we can support their meaningful work.
Thomas House is a special place that provides care and support for children in need. You can read more about Thomas House HERE.
The Student Council also introduced some of the charity events we will be doing this academic year to raise funds for Thomas House and our main charity, including the Christmas Collection, Busking Day, Smile Day, and of course, Tiger Day!
On 28th May, we had an assembly to introduce Busking Day to Year 3. The assembly included inspiring performances from a pianist to dancers and the rules and background of Busking Day were introduced. We also had a story called 'Remarkably You' by Patrice Barton, to inspire the children when thinking about their performances and the importance of being them and showcasing their skills! We look forward to seeing their acts!
We also shared the fantastic news of how our Smile Day donations helped three children.
In the assembly we spoke about what things we could do. We cannot wait to see the acts perform on the day.
The Year 3 student councilors have been a fantastic addition this year to the CAT team. In their meetings, they have discussed how to spend the money raised for Thomas House and have been fantastic advocates for the fundraising events, creating videos and performing in assemblies.
We then had our final student council meeting on 12th June, where we looked back over the year as student councillors. We have been super busy! It also involved pizza to celebrate!
It's been a busy year with the CAT team. We have had lots of events to help raise money for Thomas House.
The money raised through Christmas cards sales went towards buying looms in Thomas House to help children learn to weave. The paints donated by Y3 at Christmas were used to create a mural outside the room. They were so happy with the results. Some of the pictures are during construction.
