A note from the Principal

A note from the Principal

This week, we have enjoyed 2 special Primary school celebrations: International Day of Peace and the Wai Kru Ceremony. Through these events we have been talking with the children about the importance of being kind by showing compassion and respect. This links directly to our Global Citzenship value.

In MFL, the students have been demonstrating that understanding in multiple languages! Bien hecho!

Have a super long weekend ahead!

Wellbeing

Parents may have seen these new posters around the Primary school.

We recently shared the attitudes and behaviours that we want to help every student to learn and develop as they move through our school.

These attitudes and behaviours are grouped under our three key values: Safe, Curious and Kind.

We want these positive words, thoughts and actions to support and strengthen your child’s holistic development as they move through Primary and into young adulthood. Please help us champion these three key values by referencing our matrix of positive behaviours and attitudes in conversations with your child. The matrix is also available in Thai.

Snack bar

The children have enjoyed going to the snack bar to buy their snacks! Please can you make sure your child has some money to top up when needed. the Y3 teachers will help the children to add the money to their cards or you can top up online.

Egyptian Day

We are very excited in Y3 to be introducing a new learning theme of the Egyptians, which will be starting next week. On Wednesday 16th October we will have an Egyptian Day at school. You do not need to prepare anything for this day as we will be creating our costumes in our Art lessons leading up to Egyptian day.

Tiger Spirit Day

Nut Free Primary School

For some children, any exposure to nuts is potentially very dangerous and can be life threatening.

We do not allow any nuts to be brought into Primary. This includes snacks on school transport, birthday treats and food items brought in for any other special days.

Some treats, such as macarons contain hidden nuts. Please check the ingredients before sending into school. If snacks or birthday treats are found to contain nuts, we will contact you and either dispose of the food safely or ask you to collect and take back home.

Learning

Y3 Curriculum Term 1a

Our main focus for the first few weeks will be settling the children in as they transition to a new Key Stage by helping them move around the school from the classroom to specialist lessons as well as slowly introduce them to the Primary Snack Bar. We will learn all about how to use it in our Maths lessons next week. If you would like more information about our curriculum please visit our Curriculum page here.

Music

Please remind your child to bring in their recorder into school for their Music lessons, if they brought them home to practice.
