Living our Values

We are rigorous, inquisitive and creative.

This week, the excitement continued as children visited the cave again and met Rivers, a mystical being who studies mythical creatures. He has challenged the students to create a mythical creature to add to his new book, a compendium of mythical creatures called the Mythopedia. They enjoyed researching mythical creatures and learning about the diet of different real animals.

A note from the Principal

3 November 2023

A note from the Principal

Dear Parents,

I hope this finds everyone well. A couple of highlights to share with you this week. On Tuesday, Peter Taylder and I presented to almost 200 parents on our vision for Assessment and Reporting. It was a great session, where we looked at the new CAT 4 data and the upcoming changes to the report templates. The powerpoint can be found on the Parent Gateway and here. There will be another workshop exploring this theme on Tuesday, 28 November.

In our assemblies we have been considering ‘what makes us special’. We had a sneak peek at some of some of our 243 student FlipGrid videos (so far!) and considered how we can all contribute to our community of kindness. We love when parents join our assemblies as it helps us to reinforce our values and gives parents an opportunity to see what we are learning. This is a wonderful story on belonging and we would love everyone to re-watch it at home.

This busy Principal is off to Kuala Lumpur today for the Fobisia leadership conference!

Well-being

Snacks

We encourage students to bring healthy, reasonably sized snacks to school, if they are not using the snack bar.

A reminder that candy and chocolate are not allowed in school.

It is also our school policy that students do not share snacks.

There are plenty of healthy choices sold during break times and after school at our snack bar.

Thank you for your support.

Primary PE and Sports Week

On Tuesday 7th November Y3 students will take part in their Sports Day. Children will wear their PE kit for this event.

As part of this special sports week students are encouraged to take part in a self-challenge at lunchtimes. Some of the awards on offer will include;

  1. Class with the most participants.
  2. Speed Bounce Champion
  3. Fastest 30m Sprinter

Students will not need to change for the activity but we kindly request that students wear trainers in the sports hall.

If Y3 students wish to participate, they are invited to come to the sports hall on:
