Living our values
We are trying to make our school a better place.
Don't forget that next week is a 3 day week - school is closed Monday and Wednesday.
Precious Plastic follow up
Following our visit from Precious Plastics to school this week, we would like to highlight another one of their projects and would like Year 2 parents to join in from the comfort of their own homes.
Please read on to find out how we all can help to make a difference to the amount of plastic waste in Bangkok;
ATKs are now a necessary part of our everyday lives. Based on rough estimates for the number of students across Bangkok’s 100 or more international schools doing weekly tests this could equal 26,000 kgs of ATK plastic waste across 1 school year! This isn’t counting tests being done by teachers. This plastic is being used once and sent straight to landfills.
Up until now, concerns about COVID transmission have stopped recyclers from accepting these tests. However, the latest science shows that COVID surface transmission is incredibly unlikely. We want to fix this by collecting ATK tests alongside our regular plastic collections.
Please join our campaign to reduce the amount of single-use ATK plastic waste in our city.
We have a set of easy to follow steps to safely recycle ATK test kits;
Step 1. Make sure ATK tests come back negative, we cannot accept positive results!
Step 2. Lightly bend the test until it separates, get rid of the small test strip inside.
Step 3. Rinse the 2 plastic parts.
Step 4. When you have a collection, send the 2 plastic parts to our address at FREC, 77 Nakhon Sawan Rd, Wat Sommanat, Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Bangkok 10100
We will take this plastic to make a special line of products. We will both disinfect the plastic and then melt the plastic to 180 degrees celsius so there is no chance of COVID surviving by the time it has been processed!
Thank you for your support!

Message from Miss Rachel
Performance Week and Solo Festival
We are excited to have two musical performance opportunities happening soon. Performance week is happening in regular class music lessons during, 9-13th May and Solo Festival is happening online between 12th-18th May. These are opportunities for any child who is learning a musical instrument to perform in front of a small audience or online with a recorded performance. We encourage all students who learn a musical instrument to participate in both ways, perhaps even with the same piece.
Performance Week happens during their regular timetabled music lessons and children can sign up to perform during their music lessons. It is an internal event with no spectators.
Please encourage your child to perform if they take lessons on an instrument and please help them to bring their music/instrument on the right day:
Monday 9th May 2B
Tuesday 10th May 2P and 2T
Wednesday 11th May 2E
Thursday 12th May 2L and 2S
Friday 13th May 2J
Solo Festival involves students recording their performance at home and uploading it to secure Flipgrid. All performers receive feedback on their performances. Register here if you would like further details as they become available.
