Day 7 - Friday 23rd February

Our last day on the slopes was absolutely glorious! The snowfall from yesterday made the best skiing conditions today. We started and ended the day in beautiful sunshine with lots of smiles.

Students spent they day skiing across numerous mountains with their new found style and confidence.  They've attempted runs between trees and park skiing over jumps (some more successful than others...). Students ended their days with a ski race on a slalom, being timed, ready for the evening presentation. Seeing the students on their last run down, laughing and whooping was a moment to remember.

We ended the night with a ceremony from the instructors. They were presented with their ski levels, medals and special mentions in each group. The instructors made speeches and told tails of the funny stories' from the week. Some of the highlights included; Nik for biggest wipeout, Aviraj the chattiest, Frank the most likely to be a ski instructor, TeTe and Pat with most improved and Lucilla as the most likely skier to turn professional. Dan Dan and Eva, siblings in the same ski group were eager to see who's made it quickest down the slalom... drum role... the winner was Eva!

Les Elfs and MnK combined have delivered an absolutely fantastic trip and our gratitude and thanks goes to them. The staff have been exceptional both on and off the slopes and have shown real care and interest towards our students. They have commented on how impressed they have been with the Bangkok Patana students resilience, especially given the extreme weather they have skied in this week.

Alongside the skiing, students will be coming home with the most magical memories. They have met students in different year groups and created the best bonds. They've supported each other in learning new life skills, Vella for instance has learnt how to tie her shoe laces having had a lesson from the other girls. They have spent a week away from families and the comforts of their normal lives, and flourished with this challenge. Students have had limited time on their phones and spent the time socialising, rather than glued to the screens. A rarity nowadays but oh so refreshing for everyone!

They have been outstanding ambassadors for Bangkok Patana and a pleasure to take away. They are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow and seem to all be coming home with Japanese treats for you!

The photos and video will be sent during the first week back at school so that you can all experience the moments we have shared.

See you in less than 24 hours. Ski Trip 2024 is over and out!
