Year 4 are delighted to continue support to The Lutheran Christian Foundation children in Ban Saphan in Nan province. A neighbourhood-based team who also help serve Home of Grace in Samut Prakan supporting women's refuge and child care services in Bangkok. Year 4 are proud to have supported this charity for many years, particularly around Christmas time.
We liaise with Anne Storstein Haug to determine how we can best support the charity. For the last 2 years, the student council organises and oversees the Year 4 students' design and make Christmas Boxes. The students create Christmas Wrapping paper using recycled paper and fill shoeboxes with a variety of needed items shared by the charity.
The Year 4 students bring in toiletries, toys, colouring pencils, notebooks and teddies to fill the shoeboxes. Students wrapped the boxes and attached a note to each box. The boxes get collected and distributed to children from the Lua hill tribe villages in Ban Saphan. The Christmas Shoebox will be the only present the children receive and therefore Year 4 are grateful for all the kind donations and support given by the parents and students.
We look forward to collecting, wrapping and donating again this December. :)
I will leave you with a quote from Anne.
“For most of them this was the only Christmas present they received, and the gifts were highly appreciated. Thank you very much”
