During the Christmas Holidays, our Patana School drivers safely delivered all 125 shoe-boxes to the Children of the Forest Charity. Our drivers were met by Charity Founder, Tom Hopson who collected them in readiness for the Charity Christmas Party where the shoe-boxes were given out to the children.
As you can see from these wonderful photographs, your kindness and generosity has had a real impact on the lives and well-being of so many children who would otherwise not receive a Christmas gift. The looks on the children's faces say it all - they were extremely excited to receive your gifts.
Year 2 raised a fantastic 15,000 Baht at our Term 1 Friendship Friday Fundraising Day. This amount, together with a residual 5,000 Baht, have been happily received by the Children of the Forest and put to very good use.
The charity have purchased a selection of 20 bicycles for the children and they are already putting them to good use.
This is a fantastic example of how local fundraising can have a direct impact on the lives of others.
The annual Christmas Shoebox Collection in Year 2 this year was once again a huge success. Year 2 donated an amazing 105 shoeboxes which will make their way to the Children of the Forest on Monday 20th.
The gifts will be very much welcomed by children who would not normally receive a special gift at this time of year.
A huge thank you to every parent and child in Year 2 for their kindness and generosity at this special time of year.
Christmas Shoebox Appeal for Children of the Forest
Year 2 will once again collect Christmas Shoeboxes in support of our charity Children of the Forest.
Friendship Friday was our first community fund-raising event for the year and was a huge success. All classes in Year 2 learnt about our charity - Children of the Forest and the important support that they offer to children and families in the Kanchanaburi Province of northern Thailand.
Year 2 children learnt how valuable fundraising can have a direct impact on the health, education and welfare of the children the charity supports. The money raised this year will go towards the School's education programme, resources, food and clothing for the children, medicines for mothers and families and also supporting the Charity in growing food and crops which are used in their kitchens for daily meals.
