Spellathon Successes - again!

Year 2 Spellathon Triumph: Raising 125,370 THB to Empower Stateless Children Through Education!

A Celebration of Spelling, Teamwork, and Compassion!

The Year 2 Spellathon was more than just a test of vocabulary—it was a powerful demonstration of how small actions can create big change. With boundless energy and determination, our young spellers took on the challenge, turning each correctly spelled word into a donation for Children of the Forest (COF), an incredible organization dedicated to breaking down barriers to education for stateless and migrant children.

And the results? Absolutely phenomenal. Together, our Year 2 students raised 125,370 THB—an amount that will directly transform the lives of children who face immense challenges just to attend school.

Why This Spellathon Mattered

For many of us, access to education is something we take for granted. But for stateless and migrant children in border regions like Sangkhlaburi, even the most basic necessities—like uniforms, school fees, and transportation—can stand in the way of learning. Without these essentials, children are often forced to drop out before they even begin, trapping them in cycles of poverty and exclusion.

That’s where Children of the Forest steps in. For nearly two decades, COF has been a lifeline for these children, providing education, legal support, and hope. The funds raised in our Spellathon will help them continue this vital work, ensuring that 150 children can start or stay in school this year.

How the Funds Will Be Used

Every baht raised will go directly toward removing the obstacles that keep children out of the classroom. Here’s how COF will put our donation to work:

1. School Uniforms & Supplies

150 children will receive full uniform sets (shirts, skirts, pants).

30 pairs of school shoes will be provided for those in greatest need.

-Additional essentials like socks, belts, and school bags will ensure students arrive ready to learn.

2. School Entrance Fees

Many families cannot afford even the modest fees required to enroll their children in public schools. Our donation will cover these costs for 50 students, opening doors that would otherwise remain closed.

3. Transportation Support

For children living in remote areas, getting to school can be a daily struggle. The Spellathon funds will subsidize transportation for 75 students, ensuring they can attend class consistently.

The Ripple Effect of Education

The impact of this support goes far beyond the classroom. For stateless children, education is one of the few pathways to legal recognition, citizenship, and future employment. By helping them stay in school, we’re not just giving them an education—we’re giving them a chance at a brighter, more secure future.

A Community Effort: Thank You!

This incredible achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the collective effort of:

-Our amazing Year 2 students, who embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and perseverance.

Parents and families, whose generous sponsorships turned spelling into real-world impact.

Teachers and staff, who guided and encouraged our young learners every step of the way.

You’ve all shown that when we come together, we can create meaningful change.

What’s Next?

The funds have already been sent to COF, and their team is preparing to distribute uniforms, pay fees, and arrange transportation before the new school term begins. We look forward to sharing updates on how our contribution has made a difference in the lives of these children.
