Making a Difference at Home of Praise: Foundation Stages Support and Impact in 2025.
We’re delighted to share a heartwarming update on the impact your generosity throughout this year has had at Home of Praise nursery in Khlong Toei, Bangkok.
Thanks to your incredible support— for example your generous donations of essential everyday items such as diapers, cleaning supplies, and washing equipment have made a huge difference, helping the nursery run smoothly and supporting families throughout the year. In fact, thanks to a large donation of blankets, the nursery was able to gift every nursery child a blanket to take home on Children's Day in January. Even better, extra blankets were distributed to families in need within the local Khlong Toei community.
With a limited budget, the nursery depends heavily on donations like yours. Your financial contributions help meet the essential needs of children and create a safe, nurturing environment where they can thrive. The nursery remains open almost year-round—with only short breaks during Songkran and Easter—to provide consistency, care, and security for children from vulnerable backgrounds.
This year, the nursery began with 35 children and is set to welcome five more soon. Led by a deeply committed head teacher, the team not only cares for the children but also works closely with families to strengthen their homes and communities.
In April, the nursery team carried out home visits, using a questionnaire to better understand each family’s situation. Parents shared how much their children love coming to the nursery, and one grandparent—formerly a local area manager—described it as vital to the community. These visits also offered insight into the challenges some families face, enabling the nursery to provide immediate help where needed.
The generous donations of toys, games, art supplies, stationery, and other essential resources have greatly enriched the play and learning experiences of all the children at Home of Praise, while also providing meaningful support to their families.
Looking ahead, the nursery will need to upgrade parts of its building to meet new government requirements. There’s also a strong wish to resume school outings, which haven’t been possible recently due to budget limitations.
From everyone at Home of Praise—and from all of us—thank you once again for your kindness, compassion, generosity and continued support. You've made a real difference.
Kind regards,
Foundation Stage Community Action Team (CAT)
