Y3 Newsletter 30.04.26

The children are enjoying learning new skills in the DT room.

A note from the Principal

This week, I have been in classrooms across Foundation Stage and Year 6, spending time on learning walks. It is always a highlight to see our youngest children building their early skills and confidence, alongside our Year 6 students showing real independence as they move towards the end of Primary.

We are very much looking forward to our performances of Matilda JnR next week. Final rehearsals are well underway, and there is a real sense of excitement building across Year 6. A big “break a leg” to all of our performers:

Show 1: Wednesday 6th May: 3:30pm to 4:30pm
Classes: 6J, 6F, 6B, 6N

Show 2: Friday 8th May: 3:30pm to 4:30pm
Classes: 6C, 6M, 6S, 6D

Have a lovely long weekend. See you on Tuesday!

Timestableathon

We will be having our 'Timestableathon' on Wednesday 20th May. A letter with more information about this was sent home with your child this week. Please also scan the QR code for a video about this from the student council.

Grief, Loss and bereavement

In three weeks' time, our teachers will deliver three lessons on loss, grief, and bereavement as part of our Well-being (PSHE) curriculum.

Grief and loss are part of our lives, and so it is important to provide children with the skills they need to manage difficult feelings, to understand grief and to be able to support others. All materials will be very carefully chosen, and age appropriate.

Most importantly, if your child has experienced a significant loss or bereavement, recently or in the past, or if there is a family member or friend who is seriously ill, please contact your child’s class teacher. We can discuss with you whether it is appropriate for them to be in the lesson and be prepared to give them any additional support they may need.

Checking and labelling your child’s belongings

Parents often come into the Primary Office looking for their child’s belongings.

When personal items are clearly labelled, they can easily be returned to the owner.

Things are harder to return when they arrive in lost property without a label.

Please help by checking all items that are worn, or brought into, school by your child.

If you find any belongings that do not belong to your child, please send them back into school via the class teacher.

Children will sometimes take home the wrong hat, water bottle, PE kit and even school shoes.
