A note from the Principal

Dear Parents,

This week, I am thrilled to share our exceptional Y5 & Y6 ISA assessment results.

This year’s results show a significant difference in the performance of Patana Primary students, compared with ‘regional’ and ‘all schools’ groups. Both Reading and Mathematics for Year 5 are +36 and +35 points, respectively, when compared with the regional group. For Year 6 Reading the difference is +72 and for Mathematics +61.

These results are exceptional, particularly in Reading and Year 6 Mathematics. It is key to note that the Year 6 Mathematics results are our highest ever.

On Saturday, I look forward to joining the Graduation Ceremony for our Year 13 students. Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead.

Wellbeing

A reminder of our Y3 Smile squad attributes:

To Trade ot not to Trade...

Football cards are very popular with the Y3 students at the moment. As a year team we discourage the children from trading as this can lead to disagreements. We have also had some cards getting lost which can cause upset. Please can you ensure if your child likes playing with these cards that they only bring in a reasonable amount to avoid them getting lost and if they have a card that is extremely 'rare', they leave it at home for safe keeping. Thanks.

Year 1, 2, 3 RSE Presentation 2024.pptx - Google Slides

Next week we will be looking at keeping our bodies safe. Thinking about good and bad touches, and being respectful towards each others privacy.

Recycling Plastic bottle tops

We are championing an initiative to recycle plastic bottle caps. They must be type 2 plastic; this information can be found on the underside of the bottle cap.

Please bring in any clean caps that you have at home and put them in the green box in the shared area. We will collect them together and arrange for them to be sent to be recycled, where they will be turned into tables for local schools.

Every small step we each take makes a difference.

Thank you for your support.
