ECA Information
A reminder that Block C is scheduled to begin on Monday 12th February. It would be very helpful if you could remind your child each day which ECA they have so it is not a suprise at 2.30! Many thanks.
Waste Less week
Songkran design competition
Just a note to
clarify that the children are asked to submit a painting of a flower pattern for the
competition, not designing an actual Songkran shirt. For example, they
can submit an A4 watercolour flower pattern painting, or an acrylic canvas
flower pattern painting, etc, and the winning flower pattern paintings will be
turned into Songkran shirts.
Times Tables-athon

When?
Friday, 8th March.
Why?
The Times Tables-athon is a sponsored times tables speed-test. The purpose of this event is to raise money for our charity, Thomas House, and to encourage the children to learn their times tables by heart. Quick recall of times tables helps free up space in children's working memory so that they can focus on applying their knowledge to other areas of the curriculum. For example, students use their times-tables knowledge when learning fractions, and area and perimeter.
Which Times Tables?
The children will choose three times tables to learn, choosing one set from the following group:
- 2, 5 and 10 times tables
- 3, 4 and 8 times tables
- 6, 7 and 9 times tables
- a mix of all times tables including division facts
Sponsorship
Each child has been given a sponsorship form to take home. They are encouraged to collect as much money as they can and to bring it in after the Times Tables-athon.
