Getting ready for Egypt day! This time creating our names in hieroglyphs which we will use to print on our egyptian tunics.

A note from the Principal

This week I have been reflecting on the strength of our wider community. On Tuesday, we welcomed parents to our Safeguarding session, an important step for those wishing to volunteer in classrooms. On Wednesday, our CAT assemblies introduced students to their charity partnerships for the year ahead, sparking enthusiasm for making a difference beyond school.

I was also delighted to lead a tour for families interested in our Foundation Stage. Meeting those considering entrusting us with their child’s first steps in education is always a privilege.

Moments like these remind me how much stronger we are when students, staff, and parents work together, united by our shared values and commitment to helping every child feel safe, curious, and kind as they learn and grow.

Have a great weekend and don’t forget next week is the last week of Term 1A!

Wellbeing

Positive Behaviours - Positive Attitudes

Toys at playtimes

In Year 3, the children are allowed to bring in a small toy from home to play with. Please ensure your child's toy is named. If they are bringing in Beyblades (which are very popular at the moment) please encourage them to bring in one only. Thanks

Egyptian Day

We are very excited in Y3 to be introducing a new learning theme based around the Egyptians. On Friday 10th October we will have an Egyptian Day at school. You do not need to prepare anything for this day as we will be creating our costumes in our Art lessons leading up to Egyptian day.

Tiger day

In the Primary School, Tiger Spirit Day is our Term 1 annual whole school charity fundraising event. The money raised goes into our Primary Central Fund. Each year, the Central Fund focuses on one of the UN's sustainable development goals to support our wider community and promote the values of sustainability. This year, our focus is SDG:12 Responsible consumption and production. We look forward to working closely with our partner charities to provide more opportunities for circular economies both here at school and our surrounding region.

Preventing the spread of colds and flu

Please help us to prevent outbreaks of cold or flu as we head into the rainy season.

Children with cold or flu (influenza) symptoms should be kept at home until they are completely recovered.

Even when the main symptoms have gone, your child may still need time to return to full strength.

Please do not send your child back to school too soon, even if they are no longer in the contagious phase.

If your child is still coughing or sneezing, please keep them at home and limit their contact with other children.

A child who has a fever should be kept at home until ‘fever free’ for a minimum of 24 hours.

Influenza is a serious and contagious infection that affects the nose, throat, and respiratory system.

The virus is commonly spread through droplets in the air, allowing infection to spread quickly.

When unsure, always seek medical advice, especially if a child has a chronic condition e.g., asthma.

If Influenza is confirmed, please send a copy of the medical certificate to Nurse@patana.ac.th
