Lunar New Year: Friday 4th February

On Friday 4th February, we will celebrate Lunar New Year with an assembly (online) in Y1 and Y2.  Students are invited to come to school wearing traditional clothes or yellow and gold.  As always, please ensure that your child is sun-safe and wears sensible shoes for running around in (with their toes covered and protected).

Well-being

The classroom doors open at 7:30am allowing the children time to get ready for their day, with the first lesson then starting at 7:40am.  For many classes, their first session in the morning is with a specialist teacher elsewhere in the school, requiring time to walk there. Please can we kindly ask for your support (traffic allowing) with a prompt drop off in the morning, as this not only helps your child but is also less disruptive for their peers. Thank you!

Please also remind your child that the climbing frames and monkey bars are not for use in the mornings.

Learning

We are very excited to have a virtual visit from the author Mo O'Hara next week.  You will have the opportunity to order some of her books if you would like to.  Your child will be given an order form next week.

Global Citizenship

General Information

Lots of information about our day-to-day organisation can be found in the Welcome to Year 1 booklet.  Most of this information is still relevant,  even with necessary COVID measures in place.

Birthdays

Birthday Treats

Children may bring in a special treat to share with the class. Unfortunately, parents cannot come in to celebrate with their child. The class teachers will do their best to send you a photograph.

Please contact the class teacher to arrange a suitable time.

• Brownies and cupcakes are easier for your child to give out.

As school policy, the staff will not be able to help give out party bags or other gifts either for birthdays or on other special celebration days.

This week we have four people celebrating their birthdays.  Have a super day!
