Well-being- ECAs

There will then be a two week break before Block C begins.  Please ensure that you have noted this.  

Key ECA dates: 

• Monday 23rd January 2023 ECA Confirmations available online. Phase II opens 17:00
• Thursday 26th January 2023 Phase II closes 23:59
• Monday 13^th February 2023 ECA programme commences
• Friday 31st March 2023 ECA programme finishes.

Air Quality 

If the air quality is 'Caution for all' in the mornings, please say goodbye to your child at the Y1 doors and let them come inside to the middle area by themselves.  It gets very crowded and noisy when parents and carers come inside as well.  We have staff on duty and soft start activities set up for the students.  We appreciate your support with this.  

Learning

Our theme for this half term is 'Once Upon a Time'.  You can find out more about this on the Y1 Curriculum Page.  

Global Citizenship

Sponsored Spellathon in Year 1

On Friday 10th February, Year 1 will have a Sponsored Spellathon. This will help raise money for the children at Grapongdeang School in Khlong Toey.

Today, we have sent home a list of spellings for your child to learn, which is appropriate to their phonic level. We have also attached a sponsorship form so that friends, family and neighbours can have the opportunity to support your child in this event.

The children should practice spelling their words at home ready for the big Spellathon, when we will see how many they know.

If your child would like to take on the additional “Super Spell” challenge, then please also learn the additional “Super Spellers” words.

Dance 

Sign up is now open for Tiger’s Dance Academy’s February half term dance camp. Please find the details below and fill out the sign-up form as soon as you can to reserve the spot for your child! This camp is designed to boost learning in a fun filled environment with coaches offering a diverse range of styles and training in Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Latin, street jazz and some Afro grooves as well! Please read carefully before signing up

FEBRUARY HALF TERM – DANCE CAMP 2023

• The camp will be held over three days starting Tuesday 21^st February – Thursday 23^rd February at the Dance Academy for primary students with the option to sign up for either two days or all three days.
• For secondary students we are offering a one day only camp held on Thursday 23^rd February.
• The camp is taught by four dance academy coaches – Coach Aum, Nanzie, Mux and Boat.
• The number of spots available is 22 for each key stage to ensure quality learning. We will close the form early if spots get filled up before the closing date which is Friday 3^rd February.
• Cancellations after February 15^th will be charged in full.

Please note that for this to go ahead, we require a minimum number of students to attend. We will confirm this by the deadline date of Wednesday 8^th February.

Snacks - Nut Free School

We provided tasty and nutritious snacks each day for the students in class. As some of our children have allergies, please ensure any food sent to school does not contain any sort of nut.

Birthday celebrations

We cannot give out party bags or gifts - please keep these for any sort of celebration that you do out of school.

If you would like to send in some birthday treats for your child to share with their class, please arrange a day with your child's class teacher. We will only be able to manage individual items like brownies, doughnuts or cupcakes. Please remember we are a nut-free Primary School.
