We're Going on a Shape Hunt

Today we are using our eyes, our hands and our thinking skills to go on a shape hunt!

Yesterday, you may have made a shape viewer that you can use too. What objects can you find around your home and what shapes are they?

You might like to make a shape buddy too!

Take a look at your teacher's favourite shapes!  What are your favourite shapes?

Promoting Independence

We encourage our children to be global citizens. This starts with children knowing how to be responsible for their own belongings.

I can carry my own backpack!

We learn how to place our bag on the floor and sit in front of it. Then, we are in the right position to slide each arm into the shoulder straps. We encourage the children to rise from the floor without using their hands to steady themselves.

By carrying our backpacks we are strengthening our core muscles, our arms, our necks and our shoulders...all of the key muscles we need to become great hand writers!

We Love to See Your Learning!

What could you share on Seesaw today?

Today, we would love you to share videos and photos from your shape hunt.  We can't wait to see what you found!  If you have your school backpack already (or another one) maybe you could share a photo of your putting it on your back independently?

You are not limited to the ideas on the blog.  Perhaps your child has displayed a skill for the first time, such as putting on their socks, or riding a bike?  We love sharing these kind of experiences and achievements too!

We hope that you enjoy engaging with our Nursery Blog.

If you have any concerns or queries about your child’s learning, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher via email. They can then arrange a mutually convenient time to meet via MS Teams. Our class teachers always welcome the opportunity to discuss your child’s needs and progress.
