Floating and Sinking

In today's story Mrs Carol reads ‘Who Sank the Boat?’

The definition of ‘float’ is when something stays on the surface or on the top of a liquid.

The definition of ‘sink’ is to go under, below the surface or to the bottom of a liquid or soft substance.

Why don’t you have fun exploring floating and sinking today?

Promoting Independence

We always wear an apron when we are painting or playing with water...

Active Learning

Row, Row, Row Your Boat!

Try out, using your arms just like the little movers for ‘Row, Row, Row your Boat’ You can pretend that you have a pair of oars moving them forwards and backwards.

We Love to See Your Learning!

What could you share on Seesaw today?

We would love to see how your child shows their understanding of the world around them. This could be photographs or videos of the floating and sinking experiment. Maybe, your child is particularly loving our songs or stories, please show us?

You are not limited to the ideas on the blog. Perhaps your child has displayed a skill for the first time, such as baking a cupcake, or swimming under the water? We love sharing these ‘WOW’ moments too!
