Learning Advice for Parents

Learning Focus

The Elephant Song

Can you join in with the song and the actions?

Here are the words in English and in Thai

Today we are learning about elephants. What do you know about elephants? Where do they live? What do they eat? Can you do some research to find out? Do you have any books you can use to find out more?

Here is some information about elephants

What did you find out? Can you show us with a picture, crafts or some small world play? Here are some ideas;

Your child may want to research a different animal rather than an elephant.  You can follow their lead and ideas.

Promoting Independence

Revisiting Stop and Go Signs

We have talked about our Stop and Go signs before. They are really important to keep our children safe. Can you and your child make some signs for Stop and Go at home to use and help them to understand what they mean? You could use them for places your child is not allowed to go alone, for example out of the front door. Show them that no one is allowed to go through a stop sign.

Active Learning

Animal Yoga

Yoga helps children to:

  • Develop body awareness

  • Learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way

  • Manage stress through breathing, awareness, meditation and healthy movement

  • Build concentration

  • Have an alternative to tuning out through constant attachment to electronic devices

Here are some animal yoga poses to try

We Love to See Your Learning!

What could you share on Seesaw today?

Today, you might like to share videos or pictures of your child engaging with the play and learning related to the elephants.  We love hearing your child speak, either in their home language or English, so videos of them leading their learning are always fantastic.  Perhaps you may choose to send us photos or videos of them singing or dancing along with the elephant song.  Maybe they have tried some of the yoga poses?

You are not limited to the ideas on the blog.  Perhaps your child has displayed a skill for the first time, such as putting on their socks, or riding a bike?  We love sharing these kind of experiences and achievements too!

We hope that you enjoy engaging with our Nursery Blog.

If you have any concerns or queries about your child’s learning, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher via email. They can then arrange a mutually convenient time to meet via MS Teams. Our class teachers always welcome the opportunity to discuss your child’s needs and progress.
