Stripes
Stripes are all around us. I wonder if you can identify these stripes from nature?
Did you find the....?
Many artists have been inspired by the stripes from nature. You might be inspired to create a stripey piece of artwork too.
Ms Pa will show you how to draw a tiger…
You can choose your own media and materials...
...but torn paper stripey art is particularly great for developing finger strength and fine motor skills.
You will need at least 2 different colours of paper, 1 sheet of paper for the background and some glue if you want to create a permanent arrangement.
Promoting Independence
Zipping and unzipping is a complex set of skills that requires bilateral coordination, motor planning and finger dexterity.
Step 1: Practice on a small bag or lunch box first. You will need two hands!
Step 2: Model how to pinch between your thumb and index finger.
Step 3: 1 hand must pinch against the zip to offer resistance and the other hand must pull the zip toggle.
Step 4: Use the words ‘pinch’ and ‘pull’
Step 5: Add a key ring or some ribbon to make the zip toggle easier to grip
Step 6: Keep on trying, you can do it!
Active Learning
The Chicken and the Wolf
Today’s game is called ‘The Chicken and the Wolf’. One person is the chicken and the other the wolf. The chicken must guard their eggs. The wolf will creep up and try to steal them. If the chicken catches the wolf, the wolf must freeze on one leg. I wonder if that big bad wolf will steal all the chicken’s eggs?

We Love to See Your Learning!
What could you share on Seesaw today?
We would love to see you investigating and exploring stripes. Did you draw a tiger, or tear paper to create your own stripes? Please send us some photos or videos of you experimenting with different media. Perhaps you tried zipping your bag? This may still be quite challenging, but we would love to see a video of you giving it a go!
You are not limited to the ideas on the blog. Perhaps your child has displayed a skill for the first time, such as putting on their socks, or riding a bike? We love sharing these kind of experiences and achievements too!
