Nursery Continuing Student Learning Thursday 26th August

Say hello to our wonderful Teaching Assistants

Yesterday, we introduced you to Ms Pa and Ms Mana.  Today, we would like you to meet Ms Annie:

Learning Advice for Parents

Let me explore - it is good to get messy!

The Benefits of Sensory Play

  • It helps to build nerve connections in the brain.

  • It encourages the development of motor skills.

  • It supports language development.

  • It encourages 'scientific thinking' and problem solving.

  • It can involve mindful activities which are beneficial for all children.

Learning Focus

In your Learning Resource Pack, you will find some cotton reels.

Ideas for Exploring Cotton Reels

You might like to try some printing, using different colours. Notice how the paint leaves a mark. What different ways can you find to create a mark? What happens if you roll the reel?

What about building a tower? How tall is your tower? How stable can you make your tower?  Your tower will fall down, but that means you can try building it a different way!

Threading involves lots of concentration and dexterity! We love the mathematical thinking that can be developed by counting how many you can thread and then noticing the length. If you make 2 cotton reel snakes, you can develop the concept of comparison. Which one is the longest or shortest?

Promoting Independence

We are ‘Global Citizens’. That means that we look after our world by looking after our environments. If we make a mess then we can tidy up.

Pink Cloth, or Blue Cloth?

Cross-contamination is the physical movement or transfer of harmful bacteria from one person, object or place to another. That is why we use different cloths.

We are all being very careful to keep safe to avoid cross-contamination. It is also why we wear masks!

Active Learning

Go on a trip to the zoo and see if you can move like the animals do....

Story Time

We wonder if some of you have a pet at home? Ms Mana and Ms Annie both have dogs that they love very much. But not all animals make good pets!

In today's story there are lots of animals being delivered from the zoo, but only one of them is good to keep at home!

Dear Zoo

We Love to See Your Learning!

We really love to see videos and photos of what you have been doing at home. The best way to share this with us is via the Seesaw App. You should have received communication about how to download and login to the app. If you have not received this, please email the ISIT helpdesk- helpdesk@patana.ac.th

Resource Packs

If you have picked up your child's resource pack, they may already be very excited to explore what's inside.  Whilst there may be times that we encourage the use of certain resources, we would love for your child to have access to these, whenever they wish.  Below are some ideas about how you can enhance this learning.

Home-School Communication

We hope that you enjoy engaging with our Nursery Blog.

If you have any concerns or queries about your child’s learning, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher via email. They can then arrange a mutually convenient time to meet via MS Teams. Our class teachers always welcome the opportunity to discuss your child’s needs and progress.
