Learning Advice for Parents

Play can take many forms and can be equally important whether playing on our own or with a friend or grown up alongside. When we are in school, we promote cooperative play, encouraging children to engage in similar interests. As adults, we play alongside and model engagement, curiosity and wonder!

Learning Focus

Some scientific learning today, using...

… we love exploring with our fingers, although some children might also prefer to try first with a stick or a spoon.

Now for the Science - Only add tiny amounts of water to the cornstarch at a time and notice how it changes. The cornstarch behaves in a very unusual way. It looks wet but feels dry. It can be moulded and shaped. It moves very slowly and if you are very observant, you can watch it move all by itself!

When you have finished exploring you can leave the gloop somewhere warm and the water will evaporate, making the starch dry again.

Promoting Independence

We actively encourage children to take risks and to test their environments in a safe way. We will point out where there are hazards (like a wet floor) and ask the children to help solve the problem. We have a few rules that are non-negotiable, that keep everyone safe. You may notice our Stop and Go signs. Only grown-ups can change these! If the door says STOP! Then no one can go through...not even Ms Carol or Ms Jane.

Story Time

Don't Put Your Finger in the Jelly, Nelly!

Did you enjoy our stories last week?  Check out our digital bookshelf to listen to your favourite ones again.  Just like last week, page 1 is the stories read in English and on page 2, they are read in Thai.

We Love to See Your Learning!

We really love to see videos and photos of what you have been doing at home. The best way to share this with us is via the Seesaw App. You should have received communication about how to download and login to the app. If you have not received this, please email the ISIT helpdesk- helpdesk@patana.ac.th

Resource Packs

If you have picked up your child's resource pack, they may already be very excited to explore what's inside.  Whilst there may be times that we encourage the use of certain resources, we would love for your child to have access to these, whenever they wish.  Below are some ideas about how you can enhance this learning.

Home-School Communication

We hope that you enjoy engaging with our Nursery Blog.

If you have any concerns or queries about your child’s learning, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher via email. They can then arrange a mutually convenient time to meet via MS Teams. Our class teachers always welcome the opportunity to discuss your child’s needs and progress.
