Learning Advice for Parents

Stories for Language Development

Joining in with a story and repeating the words or acting it out makes it more meaningful for your child and easier for them to understand. Remember it is important for your child to hear stories in their home language too.

Learning Focus

The Gingerbread Man

Our story today is the Gingerbread man. The story has a repeated phrase;

‘Run, run as fast as you can you can’t catch me I’m the gingerbread man”

You can encourage your child to join in with the repeated phrase in the story, you may want to retell or act out the story using toys or with other people in your family.Your child can explore this as they choose, and with your encouragement to do lots of talking to practice telling the story.

Here is a recipe to make some gingerbread people, you will need a grown up to help you;

Promoting Independence

Washing Hands

We need to wash our hands to keep them clean and stop the spread of germs. At school we wash our hands;

  • When they are dirty
  • Before eating or touching food
  • After using the bathroom
  • After blowing your nose or coughing
  • After playing outside

Here is Peppa Pig washing her hands:

Sometimes we use hand sanitiser when there is not a tap nearby, this can come from a dispenser or a bottle. You can put one squirt on your hands and rub them all over the front and back of your hands and between your fingers too.

Active Learning

Obstacle Course

Using some toys and objects from your house, create an obstacle course that allows you to move around, through, over and under the objects. Have fun!

We Love to See Your Learning!

We really love to see videos and photos of what you have been doing at home. The best way to share this with us is via the Seesaw App. You should have received communication about how to download and login to the app. If you have not received this, please email the ISIT helpdesk- helpdesk@patana.ac.th

Resource Packs

If you have picked up your child's resource pack, they may already be very excited to explore what's inside.  Whilst there may be times that we encourage the use of certain resources, we would love for your child to have access to these, whenever they wish.  Below are some ideas about how you can enhance this learning.

Home-School Communication

We hope that you enjoy engaging with our Nursery Blog.

If you have any concerns or queries about your child’s learning, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher via email. They can then arrange a mutually convenient time to meet via MS Teams. Our class teachers always welcome the opportunity to discuss your child’s needs and progress.
