Tiger Day Round Up

What a wonderful day Friday was. We celebrated our community and the values we uphold as Patana Tigers. Take a look at our Foundation Stage video and our 'roar-some' class photos:

Learning Advice for Parents

Understanding the World

We encourage children of this age to take an interest in the world by practically engaging with the environment and objects around them. Give them a chance to explain their observations and thinking around why they think things are the way they are, or why different events happen. Let them wonder, imagine and explore.

Learning Focus

The Sun

Our world revolves around the Sun. It makes our food grow, it gives us energy, it makes our days and when the Earth goes round and around, it makes nighttime too! The sun is very, very hot!

Let’s play a game…

Look at the pictures below... are they 'Hot' or 'Not'?

The sun causes shadows. You might like to follow Ms Pa and Cooper doing some shadow drawing:

Promoting Independence

We encourage our children to start thinking about safe ways to enjoy playing outdoors in the heat of Thailand. As we have said previously, we wear hats outside at school and these are always in an accessible place so the children can independently put them on. Regular water breaks are encourage and we encourage children to identify signs that they should drink, for example when they feel hot, or sweaty or have been doing things that make them out of breath.

Active Learning

The Floor is Lava

Let’s play a game called the floor is lava! Move around the room in different ways such as running, jumping, hopping etc and when you hear ‘the floor is lava,’ you need to go onto a safety area. Be careful not to burn your feet in that hot lava!

We Love to See Your Learning!

What could you share on Seesaw today?

We would love to see videos or photos of your child playing hot or not, are they able to give reasons for their answers?  Perhaps you would like to share videos of the them playing the floor is lava?  Are they challenging themselves?

You are not limited to the ideas on the blog.  Perhaps your child has displayed a skill for the first time, such as putting on their socks, or riding a bike?  We love sharing these kind of experiences and achievements too!
