FSP went to the Little Paws Gym!

FSP had a lovely morning visiting our Little Paws Gym. The children did a floor session from our Moving Smart Perceptual Motor Program and they really enjoyed this.  We always start with a floor session as this is where we teach the body first. The children do a series of exercises with their body and then next week, they will do these exercises with the equipment. Teaching the body first allows our children to build muscle memory in their brains which is important for performing tasks correctly.

The five different exercises consisted of the following;

1. A sensory challenge in which the children had to throw a feather in the air and catch it in a cup. This activity is really great for developing eye fitness and the children loved it!

A great start to a new term!

Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful Half Term holiday. FSP have had a very busy week...

We welcomed caterpillars to FSP!

This week we had a very special delivery- some very small and very hungry caterpillars! The children have enjoyed observing them, feeding them fresh leaves and helping to keep their home clean. We already have a couple of Caterpillars who have started to make chrysalis. I wonder if they will all make a chrysalis over the weekend? I wonder what they will look like on Monday when you come back to school?

A super term in FSP!

Thank you FSP for an amazing term, you have all grown so much since you started FS2 in August! It has been wonderful to see you make friends, learn our rules and routines and have so much fun learning. You are always very busy and have such great ideas for what you would like to do! Here are some photos which show how busy you have been..

FSP are kind and helpful Tigers!

The Power of Reading

The Power of Reading is a proven professional development programme that supports schools to evolve a high quality literacy curriculum which develops reading comprehension and writing composition, and fosters a whole school love of reading and writing.

This week in FS we introduced the story ‘Augustus and his Smile’. The children were invited to look at the pictures from the story and predict why Augustus was feeling sad at the start of the story and then happy later in the story. Through this discussion we listened to and extended the children’s vocabulary and predicted what might have happened to make Augustus feel happier.

Home Language Volunteers

My name is Daria Kirbai and I am the lead teacher for Communication, Language and Literacy in FS. For the past three years I have been working as a language acquisition specialist at Bangkok Patana and I am excited to support student language development in Foundation Stage this year.

Welcome to Secondary home language volunteers

This week we have had the pleasure of welcoming seventeen Secondary students to our setting. They will be joining us each week as part of Home Language (HOLA) collaboration between FS and Secondary school. The Secondary volunteers will use their home languages to interact with our young learners. The purpose of this program is to show our children that their language and their culture is valued and has a place at Patana.
