MSPMP with FSP

This week in PD, FSP tried various activities to improve body control, spatial awareness, resilience and co-ordination.

They had lots of fun trying new things, like: balancing on a beam, throwing a beanbag from different positions, using a rebound net and using a Dizzy Giddy.

It is vital that children have a chance to practise these skills as physical development improves cognitive development- the children are learning about the world and their own capabilities.

Happy New Year!

It has been wonderful to welcome FSP back to school this week and hear all about their exciting holidays. Thank you for sharing some photos on Seesaw, the children have really enjoyed sharing them with us and their friends.

Independent learning

The children are now extemely comfortable in their environment and are so confident to follow their interests and choose their own learning. FSP have been enjoying junk modelling, building, problem solving and painting this week.

Feeling festive!

FSP have been busy little elves this week and have been making a special surprise for you. The children have worked hard to design, make their cards and wite special messages for you. It was lovely to see the children's invididual ideas and creativity through their unique designs. The children are just starting off on their writing jounrney and tried very hard to sound out and write some words on their own. We hope you love them and the children enjoy looking back at them in years to come when they are independent writers.

The children loved going to the school shop to post their cards to you and remembered to say "Thank you" to the shop assistants!

Christmas is coming!

Christmas singalong

On Thursday 15th December (Time to be confirmed) the parents are invited to come to FS2's Christmas singalong. FSP will be busy learning our songs and we look forward to celebrating Christmas with you!

The children are invited to wear red, white or brown to dress up as a reindeer or Santa. Please do not feel you need to buy new outfits, re-using outfits you already have supports our FS spotlight on suistainability. Please see the examples below.

Wh-questions

Asking and answering wh-questions are essential skills, as they lay the foundation to participate in conversations, to demonstrate knowledge, to collect information, to create, and to help make sense of their surroundings and themselves. We ask and answer questions to be polite and build and maintain relationships. Appropriately asking and answering these questions require language skills such as:

  • understanding the question word (e.g., The difference between “what” and “where”)
  • understanding each vocabulary word of the question
  • formulating appropriate syntax for a response
  • understanding the social context of the situation
