Well-being

Music Performance week

Please remind your child to bring in their instrument and sheet music if they are performing during our music performance week. Performances will take place during scheduled music lessons. Encourage your child to practise over the weekend.

Child accessing adult content - IMPORTANT!

It is now very easy for children to view adult content online, including sexual and graphically violent images. Some parents and carers may not be aware of just how easy it is for a child to access pornography, even if this is just being shown a clip on a friend’s phone.

It is no longer uncommon for children to stumble upon sexually explicit images. For example, if your child is interested in manga and anime, they may be directed towards hen-tai sites. Hentai is a genre of manga that often includes highly sexualised characters and explicit images and stories.

We have filters at school which prevent the viewing of such images and strongly encourage parents to check the parental control filters on any personal devices used at home.

It’s important to note that there are many excellent anime sites that are suitable for children, and which take into account a child’s age, interests and level of maturity.

Global Citizenship

Events around the world

You can keep up to date with current events around the world by watching Newsround, an age appropriate news show. Being aware of current events will help your child to make connections with a range of themes when reading in class, and it is an ideal opportunity for you to model discussing your opinions and using experiences to draw connections between events and people.

General Information

Please be reminded that school shoes should be completely black. If your child has black trainers as their school shoes, they should bring a different pair of shoes to wear during PE.
