Transition to Secondary
Over the coming weeks, our Year 6 Students will be spending time in some of our Secondary School Faculties. This is as part of our transition plan, but it is also a wonderful opportunity for all students (including those leaving us) to experience learning in different environments. Students will also spend some breaktimes and lunchtimes over in the Secondary School. They will meet key staff members and make connections with our Secondary Students,
This week and continuing into next week, the Y6 students will have all visited the Secondary Music Department to listen to Secondary School students playing a range of different instruments from various ensembles. This will help them inform their choices for Secondary Music.
We will continue to share key events and activities that students experience over the coming weeks here in the weekly newsletter.
Year 6 Sponsorship Event
In order to raise valuable funds for our Year 6 charity, A21, Year 6 will be participating in a fundraising event that links to our Term 2 topic of Migration and our Term 3 topic of Healthy Choices. This event will be a sponsorship activity and we would like to ask for your support from home. During the week of 30th May, students will try to walk as far as they can collaboratively with the aim of ‘migrating’ to one of 3 destinations: Ayutthaya, Hua Hin or Chiang Mai.
Each day, we will complete our step count and total the distance travelled by each class to see how far we can get by the end of the week. This will also help us to practice some of what we are learning in regards to being healthy as part of our Term 3 learning.
What we ask of you is for sponsorship of our Year 6 students with either a given amount or a value per lap that we will collect in by 10th June.
We will send sponsorship forms home next week.
Thank you in advance for your continued support of our students and the charitable contributions made towards this worthy cause.

Two age-appropriate books to support your child as they start to navigate the changes that come with puberty.

PSHE - Relationships and Sex Education Programme (RSE)
This week we have taught the students about puberty in boys, including discussing body changes.
Next week we will be focusing on recapping our learning from the past 2 weeks. Next week, classes will return to their mixed groups for this session.
Please reach out to your child's class teacher if you have any questions regarding our RSE curriculum.
PE Learning
Please note that PE blocks are changing from Monday 16th May. Please see the activities for each class below:
Home Learning and Class Blogs
Home learning is set every Friday on the class blogs - students are expected to complete their home learning by Wednesday of the following week.
Here is the link directly to the Year 6 blogs.
Global Citizenship
Events around the world
You can keep up to date with current events around the world by watching Newsround, an age appropriate news show. Being aware of current events will help your child to make connections with a range of themes when reading in class, and it is an ideal opportunity for you to model discussing your opinions and using experiences to draw connections between events and people.

General Information
Please be reminded that school shoes should be completely black. If your child has black trainers as their school shoes, they should bring a different pair of shoes to wear during PE.
