Year 6 Newsletter 6th June 2025

A Note from the Principal

It is hard to believe how quickly the summer holidays are approaching! Despite the end of term on the horizon, our wonderful Primary is as vibrant as ever!

This week, Year 5 enjoyed their trips to the local temple. We also celebrated our Swim Galas and the Junior Sports Awards.

Next week promises even more opportunity for our students, with Key Stage 2 students taking part in the Bangkok Games, Year 3 showcasing their poetry, and Year 4 hosting their Funfair Festa. We also look forward to welcoming parents onto campus for our 3-Way Conferences and Parent-Teacher Meetings next Friday.

3 Way Conferences

Conferences are scheduled for individual students, parents/ carers, and the class teacher for 15 minutes.

Please view this video to see what our 3-Way Conferences look like for our older children.

NB: If your child is in Year 3-6 and receives EAL (English as an Additional Language) support, you should also have booked an appointment to visit your child’s EAL classroom to meet with their teacher and share some of their learning with you. If your child receives SfL (Support for Learning) or Enrichment provision, teachers will also have been in touch to invite you to visit directly.

Specialist Subjects:

Although there are no appointments with specialist teachers, your child is encouraged to collect stickers in their Conference Passport by visiting our specialist areas and participating in some of the learning on offer.

You can:

● Pop into the Languages Building to view your child’s Thai and/or MFL learning

● Go to the Sports Hall or the Physical Development Room and take part in some PE games and challenges

● Visit the library and enjoy sharing a book with your child and take part in some fun library challenges.

● Buy a book from the book fair vendor outside the library.

● Visit the Technology Rooms .

● Play in our adventure playgrounds - but remember to follow our safety rules!

● We are also excited to be hosting a pop-up World Ocean’s Day art exhibition. This is open to all families, is included on your child’s passport, and will be held in the FS covered area.

IMPORTANT: Our specialist areas will close at 4pm. If you have a later appointment for your child’s conference, please arrange to visit the specialist areas beforehand.

Please also note that:

· The canteen will not be serving student lunches on this day.

· Children should wear their school uniform to their conference.

· The school is closed for regular lessons.

· ECAs will run as usual, and parents must directly drop their child off at their regular ECA location.

· All morning and 2:30pm buses have been cancelled: 3:30 and 4:30 ECA buses will go ahead as usual.

· Parents are responsible for their children throughout the school day, but school staff will be available across the primary site to support you throughout the day.

If you have any questions, please contact the Primary Office, your child’s class teacher or myself (raps@patana.ac.th)

Global Citizenship

Events Around the World

You can keep up to date with current events around the world by watching Newsround, an age appropriate news show. Being aware of current events will help your child to make connections with a range of themes when reading in class, and it is an ideal opportunity for you to model discussing your opinions and using experiences to draw connections between events and people.
