Well-Being

The important of Breakfast

The importance of breakfast for children

Did you know the kind of breakfast your child eats can affect their performance at school?

For many of us mornings are a race against the clock to get out the door and to school on time – and all too often, we skip breakfast in the rush. However, research suggests that this habit can lead to decreased focus and learning and have a negative impact on school performance. Children should eat breakfast every day.

If your child struggles to eat early in the morning, you can send them in with a healthy snack that they can eat on the playground before school starts.

Breakfast breaks the fast, waking up our bodies and brains to let them know it's time to get going and get learning.

Thank you for your support with this.

General Information:

Out of school hours

At the end of the school day, we want to ensure that all students are safe and where they should be. We have shared these expectations with our Year 6 students.

  • Students should go straight to get their 2:30pm bus – no detours
  • Student should have an organised meeting point on school grounds – always go to the meeting point
  • If the person who normally picks them up is not there, students should go and wait in the Primary Office
  • If the person who normally picks them up is going to be late, arrange to meet in the library or the Primary Office
  • Students are not allowed to use their laptops outside of the classroom
  • Students should not play on the equipment outside of school hours. If they on on the field or hardcourt, they must be supervised by an adult
  • Students should go straight to their ECA if they have one – no detours
  • If they are feeling sick, they should go to their ECA – their ECA teacher can then send them to the nurse
  • The nurse will communicate directly with the ECA provider, parents and the Primary Office if needed
  • The ECA provider must know where they are at all times to keep them safe
  • If there is a change of plan for personal reasons, parents must communicate this with class teacher AND ECA provider

Lost Property

Parents and children are encouraged to search lost property before purchasing replacement items.

Please visit https://patana.fireflycloud.asia/community-events/lost-property.

Birthdays:

Nut free Primary School

For some children, any exposure to nuts is potentially very dangerous and can be life threatening.

We do not allow any nuts to be brought into Primary. This includes snacks on school transport, birthday treats and food items brought in for any other special days.

Happy birthday to the Year 6 student celebrating their birthday this week.
