Well-Being

Morning routines:

We have had a very good start to the year, and the morning routines are already in place.

Year 5 and 6 students meet on the Primary hard court in the morning when they arrive at school. Students must stay in this supervised area. We expect students to sit and talk during this time as there is not enough space to play running games or ball games as there are so many children in this space.

If students bring their own balls with them, they must keep them in their bags until play or lunch time.

Student Code of Conduct:

Over the next few weeks, your child will come home with a signed copy of the Student Code of Conduct. In class, we have reviewed this, and all students have chosen four trusted adults who they feel confident enough to speak to if they do not feel safe.

Please take some time to go through the code of conduct with your child.

Dance and Drama:

The Dance and Drama Academy will be holding auditions for the 'Junior' Company and the 'Senior' Company. These will be two brand new groups starting fresh this year that will work as a team over a yearlong programme.

We are looking for committed, team players who have a passion for dance and have experience in Contemporary, Jazz and Hip Hop as well as performance experience.

The BPS Juniors will be auditioning Friday 30th August 2.30pm - 4.30pm

The BPS Seniors will be auditioning Monday 2nd September 2.30pm - 4.30pm

If you would like to audition please sign up using the google doc below or contact Miss Tammy for more information tasp@patana.ac.th

Learning

Interculturalism

During our first unit of learning, we will focus on exploring and celebrating our interculturalism.

Here are our guiding questions:

What does it mean to be part of a community?

How do I stay connected to my own culture within an international school?

What does it mean to be culturally inclusive?

During our Literacy lessons, we will read Thai-riffic by Oliver Phommavanh.

Y6 Introduction to the Learning Meeting:

Lost Property

Parents and children are encouraged to search lost property before purchasing replacement items.

Please visit https://patana.fireflycloud.asia/community-events/lost-property.

Birthdays:

Nut free Primary School

For some children, any exposure to nuts is potentially very dangerous and can be life threatening.

We do not allow any nuts to be brought into Primary. This includes snacks on school transport, birthday treats and food items brought in for any other special days.

Some treats, such as macarons (see picture), contain hidden nuts. Please check the ingredients before sending into school. If snacks or birthday treats are found to contain nuts, we will contact you and either dispose of the food safely or ask you to collect and take back home.

Happy birthday to the Year 6 student celebrating their birthday this week.
