International Dot Day
Everyone had a wonderful time celebrating Dot day. You can see the installations in the Primary canteen. We also started to prepare our very own installation which will be on display in Year 6. You will be able to see this when you visit the year group for parent teacher meetings.
International Day of Peace
World Peace Day is on the 21st September. Students are invited to come to school wearing purple clothes. If your child doesn't have anything purple, blue is the perfect alternative.
The purple theme links to Mrs McCormack's assembly based on the book "Purple People" and the theme of kindness.
There will also be a Year 5 & 6 ssembly, which parents are invited to join in the theatre at 8:10am . If you do come along, please could we ask that your sit with your child's year group. Y6 students will sit upstairs in the theatre, parents to sit in the back rows of the upper tier. Staff will be able to help you with this.
Interclass Basketball
Year 6 will have an Interclass basketball competition on the 26th September during their PE lessons. Parents are welcome to come along to support.

Global Citizenship
Events around the world
You can keep up to date with current events around the world by watching Newsround, an age appropriate news show. Being aware of current events will help your child to make connections with a range of themes when reading in class, and it is an ideal opportunity for you to model discussing your opinions and using experiences to draw connections between events and people.
