Learning

International Dot Day

International Dot Day is next Thursday, 15th September. To mark this event students will be creating dot art, linking to our Interculturalism theme and completing dot investigations in maths. Students may dress in dotty or spotty clothes on this day. If they dont have anything with dots, they can come in bright colours.

International Day of Peace

World Peace Day is on the 21st September. Students are invited (optional) to come to school wearing purple clothes.

The purple theme links to Mrs McCormack's assembly based on the book "Purple People" and the theme of kindness.

There will also be a Year 5 & 6 ssembly, which parents are invited to join in the theatre at 8:10am . If you do come along, please could we ask that your sit with your child's year group. Y6 students will sit upstairs in the theatre,  parents to sit in the back rows of the upper tier. Staff will be able to help you with this.

Swimming Gala

Year 6 will have a swim gala on the 10th October from 7:40 to 9:45am in the 25m pool. Parents are welcome to come along to support the event.

Please ensure that you child brings in their swim suit, swim hat, googles, a towel and sun cream.

We look forward to celebrating this event with you.

Global Citizenship

Events around the world

You can keep up to date with current events around the world by watching Newsround, an age appropriate news show. Being aware of current events will help your child to make connections with a range of themes when reading in class, and it is an ideal opportunity for you to model discussing your opinions and using experiences to draw connections between events and people.
