Please remind your child to bring in a hat and a water bottle every day.

Primary students and mobile phones

If a child needs to contact home urgently, they can ask to use the phone in either the Year Group or Primary Office.

At the current time, no child is allowed to bring a phone into the Primary School.

We share this information at the start of the school year, both at the various Welcome Meetings and in written documentation such as the Year Group Booklets.

Given that most mobile phones provide quick and easy access to the internet, it would be very difficult for school and bus staff to monitor the content being stored or shown on phones.

Of course there are extenuating circumstances and these will be considered on an individual basis. If such a situation does arise, please seek clarification from your child's class teacher.

The Readers' Theatre

This week, we successfully launched our Inter class reading competition, and what a fantastic start it has been. Year 5 students have already started to devour the texts.

There is no pressure for students to read at length every night. The main focus is on reading for pleasure. We welcome your support. Here are a few ways that you can support your child:

• Ask them what they are reading
• Discuss the characters 
• Discuss the theme
• Help them to make connections with other texts, their life and the world around them

Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, we are asking students NOT to bring in any cakes from home to share with members of the class. We will however sing Happy Birthday at some point throughout the day.

Japanese Language ECA

日本人または日本語を母国語とする親を持つ生徒のためのＥＣＡ日本語が、新学期も引き続き開講されます。外部からの国語教師が授業を担当します。これを機会に子供たちの日本語力を高めませんか。詳細はＥＣＡ登録画面で確認願います。ご質問等ございましたらptgjapan@patana.ac.thまでご連絡下さい。

A Japanese language ECA will be offered to all students who are Japanese natives or those whose parents are Japanese speakers. A Japanese teacher (from outside Patana) will lead the ECA classes and help your child improve their Japanese skills. Please refer to the current ECA sign-up site for more details.
