Year 5 Newsletter 7th June

Living our values: We are engaged learners

7 June 2024

A note from the Principal

Dear Parents,

This week, I had the most marvellous of trips down to the Fobisia Games in Pattaya. Our Year 5 & Year 6 students performed so well, but what stood out for me was the commitment, sportsmanship and community spirit. Thanks so much to our PE team for their superb care and organisation and to our parents who were there for the whole week!

A reminder from our Admissions teams: If you are travelling this summer and require documents from school to support your visa applications, or you need to extend your Thai visas, please note that the deadline to apply is Friday 14th June. Please see last week’s Patana News reminder for more information and a link to apply.

Finally, don’t forget to complete our annual survey if you haven’t already. Here is the Survey link.

PSHE lesson this week in Year 5

This week in PSHE, we have been learning about managing emotions. We explored why children have changing emotions and what strategies they can use to support them through this.

We touched on the fact that they may start to get crushes, and that this is a normal part of growing up, but they are too young for a relationship.

We also explore consent. It's important to talk to your child about consent and how to keep themselves safe.

PE lessons

All students MUST bring their school uniform to change into after the lesson.

Please find attached the PE curriculum for Year 5 students starting W/C 14th May.

Any questions please do not hesitate to contact the PE Team -

Class Blogs and home learning

Here is the link to the Year 5 blogs. You will find an overview of your child's learning along with their home learning tasks and any important messages from your child's class teacher.
Please check your child's class blog weekly to stay informed about their learning.
Please encourage your child to complete their home learning.

  • Individual treats can be brought into school with your child in the morning.
  • Please agree a time with the teacher in advance.
  • Children will be expected to eat any birthday treats outside of classrooms.
  • Parents can join in the celebrations.
