Year 5 Newsletter 26th January

26 Jan 2024

A note from the Principal A busy week for us in Primary, with our Y4, Y5 and Y6 attending the highly anticipated Residentials. I was lucky to join our Y5 students in Khao Yai for one night and be the guest judge at the Talent Show. We had a lot of fun and our students really must be commended for their exemplary behaviour and their courage and kindness which shone throughout. A huge thank you to all our leaders, teachers, business staff, transport department and nursing team who work so hard to make our Residentials such a success.

Many thanks to the 80 parents who have completed our short parent survey our new report template. If you haven’t had a chance yet, the link is here. We really appreciate your time and feedback.

FUN DAY

Learning

Spelling

The next spelling test will be on Monday 5th February. Your child already has these.

Please remind your child to bring their spelling books with them every Monday and encourage them to learn the spellings.

Thank you for your support.

PE lessons

All students MUST bring their school uniform to change into after the lesson.

For next week's lesson, please bring in your normal PE kit.

After residential students will begin their new activities in PE.

Due to health and safety reasons, it is highly recommended that students wear football boots for their Tee Ball lesson.

Any questions please do not hesitate to contact the PE Team - jaju@patana.ac.th.

Class Blogs and home learning

Here is the link to the Year 5 blogs. You will find an overview of your child's learning along with their home learning tasks and any important messages from your child's class teacher.
Please check your child's class blog weekly to stay informed about their learning.
Please encourage your child to complete their home learning.

Global Citizenship

Events In The World

You can keep up to date with current events around the world by watching Newsround, an age appropriate news show.  Being aware of current events will help your child to make connections with a range of themes when reading in class, and it is an ideal opportunity for you to model discussing your opinions and using experiences to draw connections between events and people.

Birthdays

We are a NUT FREE school. Please when ordering birthday treats double check before bringing treats on the campus. Many toppings offered by some donut shops have flaked almonds in their toppings and peanut butter fillings.

  • Individual treats can be brought into school with your child in the morning.
  • Please agree a time with the teacher in advance.
  • Children will be expected to eat any birthday treats outside of classrooms.
  • Parents can join in the celebrations.
