We are motivated and engaged!
A note from the Principal
Dear Parents,
A highlight for me this week was joining
our Maths advocates Ms. Anna Caswell and Ms. Vicky Paxman for their Maths
workshop for parents on Number Talks. We were thrilled that more than 140
parents were in attendance, the highest number yet! Next Tuesday at 8am, we are
hosting a workshop on social and emotional regulation and we look forward to
the learning and discussions on this important topic.
Thank you to the 150 parents who have completed our school report survey.
Reviewing our assessments and reports is one of our school development plan
goals this year and we are looking for as much feedback as possible on how
useful parents find the current format. The deadline for this survey is Monday,
27th March.
Finally, if any families will be leaving at the end of this academic year,
please ensure you have submitted a withdrawal form to the Admissions Office by
17th April. If you have any questions relating to withdrawals,
please contact Rachel Jones, Head of Admissions at rajo@patana.ac.th

General Information
Maths Presentation
Thank you to all the parents who came along to the maths workshop this week. We enjoyed discussing what mathematical fluency is, and how developing fluency can support our students with reasoning and problem-solving activities. Below, you can find a copy of the presentation with some notes describing what was discussed for each slide. If you have any questions, please contact Anna or Vicky at anca@patana.ac.th or vipx@patana.ac.th
Tiger Cats U9
Tiger Cats U9 team (Y3 and Y4) recently performed a showcase at the Tiger Cats Dance Challenge 2023. The outfits and hairstyles matched perfectly with the background visual and the mood of the music. The song they performed to is called 'Tik Tok' by That girl Lay Lay. We congratulate them for working hard and staying focused! Here is a lovely picture from the showcase!

Smart watches for Term 3 April 23
A simple watch can help children to develop an understanding of time and support their independence.
Our preference is for a basic analogue model.

A growing number of children are now wearing a smart watch to school.
Many of these watches allow for online access, including games and other features that they do not need in school.
Some children spend time interacting with their watch instead of talking and playing with their friends.
There have also been concerns about unsupervised access to online content, including taking and sending images.
Starting from Term 3, Primary students will be required to keep their smart watch in their bag during the school day.
Please note, that the school takes no responsibility for loss or damage and only Year 6 have access to a secure locker.
Smart watches can be taken out of bags once a child exits the school gates at 2:30 or once their ECA has ended at 3:30 or 4:30.
Smart watches can be worn on school transport but should never be used to take or send images whilst on the bus.
