Learning

Term 1A

Please visit our Curriculum Pages for more information about learning in Year 4.

PE

The new blocks of learning for our students will begin on Tuesday the 27th of October.

Swimming lessons remain the same but basketball will change to athletics.

On Thursday the 15th of October our students will take part in their annual swimming gala. Unfortunately due to current restrictions we are not allowed to have spectators at this event.

Reading

Students are encouraged to change Oxford Reading Tree (ORT) books every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Please encourage your child to return and exchange their books.

Loi Krathong - Friday 30th October

Students are invited to come to school dressed in traditional dress on this day. If you need some guidance on where to find a Thai outfit for this, you can shop online at Shopee children Thai costume. If you prefer to look for things in person, Pratunam area , Tesco, Big C or small shops at local markets are worth exploring.

General Information

Birthdays

The following students are celebrating birthdays this week. Happy Birthday from everyone in Year 4:

Phasin [Lookkid] 4T

Darsh 4K

Sixiang [Casper] 4F

Thomas 4A

Promput [Prom] 4W

Dayeon [Emily] 4F

Arthur 4F

Minjun 4T

We are now able to celebrate the children’s birthdays with them, as long as we follow these requirements:

- Individualised treats (cupcakes, donuts, etc) can be brought in either at the start of the day or the end of the day

- No Nuts! Please ensure that any food items sent in do not contain nuts, or any traces of nuts. Please check the ingredients.

- No candles

- The birthday treats must be individual portions – teachers will not be able to cut pieces of cake to be given out

Please liaise directly with your child’s class teacher to inform them if you will be bringing in treats for your child’s birthday.

Uniform

As part of their Patana school uniform, our students wear plain black shoes with no coloured trim.

If your child is still coming to school in coloured trainers, please purchase plain black school shoes over the half term break.

Shoes should support healthy foot growth.

All shoes require at least a strap to keep the shoe firmly in place. No ballet pumps.

Children can wear lace-ups if they can tie up their laces independently.

Plain black school shoes can be sourced in many shops and department stores.

If your child has to wear other shoes for a specific reason, please let us know.

These photographs are all examples of suitable plain black shoes.

Watches

It is important for our students to be able to tell the time so we would encourage students to wear an analog or digital watch if they wish to.

Many of our staff have noticed children wearing Apple or smart watches in school.

We would like to advise parents that students should not be wearing these due to their high value and the upset it may cause if they are broken.

Personal Information

Please can we ask all parents to check their child's personal information on the school system to ensure that it is up to date. This is includes contact numbers and emails.
