Living our Values

We are : Balanced and Fulfilled

We had a very busy first week as teachers and students got to know one another. We would like to extend a warm welcome to the thirteen new families who joined us and we look forward to helping you all settle in very quickly. Year 3 have been exploring the wonderful  outdoor playground and we have enjoyed showing the children around all their new learning spaces.

Well-Being

Nut free Primary School

For some children, any exposure to nuts is potentially very dangerous and can be life threatening. We do not allow any nuts to be brought into Primary. This includes snacks on school transport, birthday treats and food items brought in for any other special days. Some treats, such as macarons, contain hidden nuts. Please check the ingredients before sending into school. If snacks or birthday treats are found to contain nuts, we will contact you and either dispose of the food safely or ask you to collect and take back home.

Learning

Y3 Introduction to the Learning Meeting: Tuesday 27th August at 3:00pm in the Y3 shared area. This meeting will provide an overview of what to expect in Year 3. Following a brief presentation, you are invited to visit your child’s classroom to meet the class teacher. If you want to discuss your child’s needs in any detail, please make a separate appointment with the teacher.

Y3 Curriculum Term 1a

We will be getting to know the children over the next two weeks through the PSHE theme of ‘Being Me in My World’. Our main focus will be settling the children in as they transition to a new Key Stage by helping them move around the school from the classroom to specialist lessons as well as slowly introduce them to the Primary Snack Bar. We will learn all about how to use it before the students are given their snack cards. Your child will begin using the snack bar in the week beginning the 9th September.

Primary PE

Global Citizenship

      The Prostheses Foundation of Thailand

This year Y3 will continue with collecting ring pulls.

This organisation uses the donations to purchase a higher grade, more flexible material made from aluminium and steel to make artificial limbs. This process meets the international standard ISO 10328 for artificial limbs and ensures that the durability of the prosthetic is increased and patient safety is improved.

We will continue to collect the ring pulls throughout term 1. Any that you collect may be given to your class teacher.

Birthdays

Happy Birthday this week goes to:

Elle 3A, Timon 3K and  Mine and Peyton both in 3M.

General Information

School shoes

Students wear black shoes that support the whole foot and allow them to be active. School shoes require at least a thick strap to keep the shoe firmly in place. Children can wear lace-ups if they can tie up their laces independently.

Patana Cards and e-purse for Y3

Year 3 – 6 may use their card for the Primary Snack bar at break time. Year 3 will start doing so the week beginning 9th September. Students do not need to use their card for the set lunch programme. If you have any queries relating to the Patana Card please contact Reception in person, by phone 02 785 2200 or by email reception@patana.ac.th or visit www.patana.ac.th/patanacard.asp

Morning Snacks in Key Stage 2

From the week beginning the 9th September Year 3 may bring in a healthy snack from home or buy one from the Snack Bar. Prior to this date snacks will be provided in the year group as they were in Key Stage 1. Please do not send sweets, chocolate or gum into school. We provide plain or soymilk for every student each break time. Students may bring their own water bottle to school.
