Well-Being

Air Quality at Patana - Please use this link for more information : https://www.patana.ac.th/air-quality-on-campus/

Sharing of snacks after school - Please can we remind parents that the sharing of snacks is not allowed in the primary school, including after school. This is to ensure all our student's are kept safe, as we have a number of students with potentially critical allergies. Many thanks for your support.

Nut free Primary School - For some children, any exposure to nuts is potentially very dangerous and can be life threatening. We do not allow any nuts to be brought into Primary. This includes snacks on school transport, birthday treats and food items brought in for any other special days. Thank you for your understanding.

PE and Jewellery -  A polite reminder that during PE and swimming lessons, all jewellery including watches are removed. The PE staff will keep the items safe and return them to the students at the end of the lesson. Earrings should be removed or covered with tape.

Learning

Three Way Conferences - Thank you for everyone who attended the three-way conferences with their children. It's a wonderful way to share the learning from the term and give the children ownership. They are extremely valuable and help to build confidence and collaboration skills too. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

You can find more about this term's Year 2 curriculum via the link below. Our current unit is ‘Me and My World’.

Parent Home Language Helpers - We are looking for parents who would like to be Home Language Helpers (PHLH). The PHLH will help to create opportunities for learners to experience their Home Language within their learning. This means that you could volunteer to use your Home Language to read a book with learners who speak the same language, or to spend time in the learning environment exploring and discovering in your native tongue. If you are interested in joining, please add your name to our Parent Home Language Helper database here or contact Ondine at onul@patana.ac.th if you have any questions.

Global Citizenship

The Prostheses Foundation of Thailand We would like to ask for families to collect 'ring pulls' and bring these into school. You can either deliver them to the drop-off point in the primary office or send them in to your child's teacher. The organisation uses ring pull donations to purchase a higher grade, more flexible material made from aluminium and steel to make artificial limbs. This process meets the international standard ISO 10328 for artificial limbs and ensures that the durability of the prosthetic is increased and patient safety is improved.

Birthdays

We enjoy mini-celebrations in class but ask that you pre-arrange a time with the teacher. Individual portions such as brownies and cupcakes are easier to share out. All food sent in to school must be nut free. As school policy, teachers are not able to give out party bags or other gifts as part of a birthday celebration.

General Information

School shoes and PE - A polite reminder that school shoes should be worn every day and for PE your child needs a separate pair of trainers. Please see guidance below. Students wear black shoes that support the whole foot and allow them to be active. School shoes require at least a thick strap to keep the shoe firmly in place. Children can wear lace-ups if they can tie up their laces independently.

Lost Property

Parents and children are encouraged to search lost property before purchasing replacement items.
