Well-Being

Air Quality at Patana - Please use this link for more information : https://www.patana.ac.th/air-quality-on-campus/

Sharing of snacks after school - Please can we remind parents that the sharing of snacks is not allowed in the primary school, including after school. This is to ensure all our student's are kept safe, as we have a number of students with potentially critical allergies. Many thanks for your support.

Nut free Primary School - For some children, any exposure to nuts is potentially very dangerous and can be life threatening. We do not allow any nuts to be brought into Primary. This includes snacks on school transport, birthday treats and food items brought in for any other special days. Thank you for your understanding.

PE and Jewellery -  A polite reminder that during PE and swimming lessons, all jewellery including watches are removed. The PE staff will keep the items safe and return them to the students at the end of the lesson. Earrings should be removed or covered with tape.

Learning

The Year 2 classes have enjoyed taking their learning to the outdoor classroom this week. Please see your class blogs for more information!

Global Citizenship

The Prostheses Foundation of Thailand We would like to ask for families to collect 'ring pulls' and bring these into school. You can either deliver them to the drop-off point in the primary office or send them in to your child's teacher. The organisation uses ring pull donations to purchase a higher grade, more flexible material made from aluminium and steel to make artificial limbs. This process meets the international standard ISO 10328 for artificial limbs and ensures that the durability of the prosthetic is increased and patient safety is improved.

International Day - Country Spotlight

International Day will take place on Friday 1st November.

In the weeks leading up to International Day, our PTG has organised a wide range of Country Spotlights to help students learn more about a specific country or culture.

Unless otherwise stated, all activities will take place next to the Primary Snack Bar during the lunch period.

Week of Oct 14th – Oct 18th

Germany Oct 15th Celebrate the 30 year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall at the Germany Spotlight stand.

India Oct 15th Visit the India Spotlight stand to make your own diya, an oil lamp, made of clay, used across India to mark festivals, religious rituals and special occasions. The light of the diya symbolizes knowledge, goodness and purity in Indian culture.

China Oct 16th Learn about ‘Kindness, Luck and Fun’ by making fan shape bookmarks, good luck knot charms and by playing a Chinese shuttle kicking game.

Message from Thai PTG

This year, our theme for the Thai parade contingent will be Muay Thai (Thai children are still able to wear any Thai traditional costume). To support this endeavor, the Thai Parents Group has prepared Muay Thai costumes (shirts and pants), which may be pre-ordered in the link below (acceptance of orders will close on Friday, Oct.11, 2019). Samples will be available for preview at the PTG room on Wed-Fri, Oct.9-11, from 3pm onwards.

Birthdays

We enjoy mini-celebrations in class but ask that you pre-arrange a time with the teacher. Individual portions such as brownies and cupcakes are easier to share out. All food sent in to school must be nut free. As school policy, teachers are not able to give out party bags or other gifts as part of a birthday celebration.

Happy Birthday to the students celebrating their birthdays this coming week:

2B Xavier 22-Oct
2B Seohyeon [Sophia] 25-Oct
2B Pachara [Matthias] 18-Oct
2C Shawn 19-Oct
2C Achavat [Po] 28-Oct
2K Hudson 25-Oct
2M Peem 25-Oct
2M Nigel 18-Oct
2N Joohwan 20-Oct

We wish you all a super day!

General Information

School shoes and PE - A polite reminder that school shoes should be worn every day and for PE your child needs a separate pair of trainers. Please see guidance below. Students wear black shoes that support the whole foot and allow them to be active. School shoes require at least a thick strap to keep the shoe firmly in place. Children can wear lace-ups if they can tie up their laces independently.
