A note from Mrs McCormack (Primary Principal):

Dear Parents,

A highlight for me this week was joining our Maths advocates Ms. Anna Caswell and Ms. Vicky Paxman for their Maths workshop for parents on Number Talks. We were thrilled that more than 140 parents were in attendance, the highest number yet! Next Tuesday at 8 am, we are hosting a workshop on social and emotional regulation and we look forward to the learning and discussions on this important topic.

Thank you to the 150 parents who have completed our school report survey. Reviewing our assessments and reports is one of our school development plan goals this year and we are looking for as much feedback as possible on how useful parents find the current format. The deadline for this survey is Monday, 27^th March.

Finally, if any families will be leaving at the end of this academic year, please ensure you have submitted a withdrawal form to the Admissions Office by 17^th April. If you have any questions relating to withdrawals, please contact Rachel Jones, Head of Admissions at rajo@patana.ac.th

Maths Workshop Presentation

Thank you to all the parents who came along to the maths workshop this week. We enjoyed discussing what mathematical fluency is, and how developing fluency can support our students with reasoning and problem-solving activities. Below, you can find a copy of the presentation with some notes describing what was discussed for each slide.

Global Citizenship

Songkran Celebration - 31/03/23

To celebrate Songkran students are encouraged to wear traditional Thai dress or a flowery Songkran shirt. Otherwise, normal school uniform should be worn.

There will be a Songkran Assembly in the Sports Hall. Parents are welcome to attend and are asked to sit on the viewing platform, as space is limited in the hall.

Children of the Forest Challenge - 31/03/23

We are excited to announce that our Year 2 community fundraising event for Term 2 will be the Children of the Forest Challenge will take place next Friday 31^st March. This will be a spelling challenge to raise money for our charity Children of the Forest.

Please look out for your child's spelling list and help them to practice these at home.

Your child will ask you and other family members to sponsor them for learning their words. After the event, your child’s teacher will let you know your child’s score, so you know how much sponsorship money to send in. Please do not send sponsorship money until after the event.

Medicines

If your child needs to take medicine during the school day.  

This must be given to the School Nurse.

The nurses will then come to class to administer the medicine at the appropriate times. 

Students should not be bringing or carrying medicine in their school bags.

Birthday celebrations

We cannot give out party bags or gifts - please keep these for any sort of celebration that you do out of school.

If you would like to send in some birthday treats for your child to share with their class, please arrange a day with your child's class teacher. We will only be able to manage individual items like brownies, doughnuts or cupcakes. Please remember we are a nut-free Primary School.
