Preparing for ECAs

Please talk through your child's ECA with them so that they know what they are doing and they know what the transport arrangements are after the ECA.  Please refer to the ECA information for parents shared by Miss Cindy here.  

Learning

High Frequency Word Books 

This little purple book has high frequency words (200 words, including tricky words) for your child to learn to read fluently (sight reading the words with less reliance on phonetically sounding them out).

When your child has learned all the words in the set, please return the book to school for us to check. If your child has successfully learnt the words in that set, they will take home the next list. Teachers will always aim to return the purple book to your child on a Thursday or Friday for you to have over the weekend and the beginning of the week if needed.

Musician of the Month

Every month Primary Music features a Musician of the Month during lessons. We include a diverse range of performers, arrangers and composers.

This month we are celebrating the music of Celia Cruz.

Celia was born in Cuba in 1925 and moved to the US during the Cuban revolution. With her rhythmic singing and rich voice Celia became associated with ‘Salsa’ - a Cuban dance music that became popular in the 1960s .

This week we are featuring Guantanamero - perhaps Cuba’s most famous song.
