Living our Values

We are diverse and inclusive

What a lovely sight it was to see so many Y1 students dressed for Loy Krathong today.  Thank-you for your efforts and support over these past 3 'dress up' Fridays.  I am sure it will be a relief to have a normal Friday next week- our first in school!

Well-being

Picking up after an ECA

If your child takes school transport home, they will be walked to the buses by their ECA providers.  If you collect your child after an ECA, they will be brought back to the blue area (near Y1 and Primary Office) to meet you there.

Morning snacks

A healthy snack is provided each morning for children in Years 1 and 2.

There is no need to send in an additional snack from home.

This helps us to manage break times effectively and to guard against potential allergy concerns.

If your child is starting ECAs next week, you are welcome to send in a snack for them to have before their ECA. Class teachers will do their best to facilitate this additional snack time.  Please ensure that this is a healthy snack- no sweets, no chocolates and no nuts.

Global Citizenship

Learning

We are still missing Numicon from our class sets.  If you still have this at home, please can you return the counters, dice and Numicon as soon as possible?  Many thanks.

Appeal for bottle tops

If you have any bottle tops at home, please can you save them and send them in to your child's class teacher to help us with our Science learning.  Metal ones are ideal but we will also be able to use any made of plastic too.

CSL

The current Hybrid CSL model will continue until the end of Term 1.  At the moment, we wish to support our students’ learning the best we can, but we are moving to a CSL model for the following situations:

  • The student’s class/year group is closed for 3 days because of a Covid+ case/s.

  • The student is in 14 day isolation because they are Covid+ or a high risk contact.

  • The student has been overseas since the beginning of the academic year (August 2021) and is not able to return before 10th January 2022.

The situations in which we will not provide Hybrid CSL for are:

  • The student is on holiday or visiting family, including leaving school mid-term to travel.

  • The student is generally unwell. This includes symptomatic Covid+ cases. Once the student is well again, CSL will be provided for the remainder of their isolation period.

  • If a student is identified as low risk or no risk.

Other circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis.

For queries, please contact the Primary Office.

General Information

Lots of information about our day-to-day organisation can be found in the Welcome to Year 1 booklet.  Most of this information is still relevant,  even with necessary COVID measures in place.
