Living our school values:

We are inquisitive and creative

14 January 2023

A note from the Principal

Dear parents,

Welcome back after the holidays!

We hope you and your families had a wonderful break and are ready for the term ahead. This week, we have welcomed 40 new students to our school and we're excited for them to be a part of our community.

We have many exciting opportunities and challenges ahead of us this half term, including the upcoming Y4-Y6 student residential trips at the end of January. These trips will provide valuable experiences and learning opportunities for our students and we encourage you to discuss the details with your child and support them in preparing for this exciting experience.

As we move forward in this term, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to support you and your children in making this a successful and enjoyable term. We look forward to the many exciting opportunities that this term will bring, and we appreciate your support and cooperation in making this a successful one for all the students in the school!

Proud of you Patana!

Sarah McCormack

Well-being

Please ensure that your child is here at 7:30, ready to come in with the rest of their class.  It can be very upsetting for some children when there are late arrivals, not just for those who are late.  It is important that the class have the opportunity to start the day together and that all students know what the day has in store for them.  We use the mornings for target time, hearing reading, responding to feedback and, in some classes, there are specialist sessions that happen first thing.  Your support with ensuring all children have these opportunities is much appreciated.

Learning

Our theme for this half term is 'Once Upon a Time'.  You can find out more about this on the Y1 Curriculum Page.

Snacks - Nut Free School

We provided tasty and nutritious snacks each day for the students in class. As some of our children have allergies, please ensure any food sent to school does not contain any sort of nut.

If you would like to send in some birthday treats for your child to share with their class, please arrange a day with your child's class teacher. We will only be able to manage individual items like brownies, doughnuts or cupcakes. Please remember we are a nut-free Primary School.
