You will need:

- A laptop

- 1 Super Smart Searching help sheet (between 2)

- A Google Doc or Slides file named SMART SEARCHING - Your name

A reminder - Watch together on the carpet



File type:


- Search for a PowerPoint about sustainability using the filetype Google Operator.

- Snip the Google search you did and the top few results and paste it onto your Google Doc.


Site:


- How long is a Martian year? Use the site operator to only search nasa.gov

- Snip the Google search you did and the top few results and paste it onto your Google Doc along with the answer!

Speech marks and site:


- Search "how humans effect our ecosystem" only on the site prezi.com

- Snip the Google search you did and the top few results and paste it onto your Google Doc along with a link to the prezi.

- Read through the Prezi and then, on your Google Doc write down 3 ways you think it could be improved.

FINAL CHALLENGE - Speech marks, Site and CTRL + F


- Search "plastic pollution" only on the site en.wikipedia.org

- Snip the Google search you did and the top few results and paste it onto your Google Doc

- Click on the top result from your search to go to the Wikipedia article

- Hold CTRL and press F and it will open a search box. Type in the word plastic and it should highlight every 'plastic' in the document. Write in your Google Doc how many times the word plastic appears

- Use CTRL + F again to find the word 'entanglement' in the Wikipedia article. Copy and paste, on your Google Doc, some text that explains what this means


You can use CTRL + F to find words in every webpage and every document on your computer. It is VERY useful!
