In part 2, we are learning how to control what trackers can and can’t do on our browsers.
As we discussed before, there are adverts and trackers on websites that allow the website’s owners to make money from you being there or signed up to the free service. A free service is something such as Gmail.
Gmail offers you a free email service as well as access to a whole bag full of extras such as Photo storage, Google Drive, Docs, Slides, Drawings, Sheets, YouTube, a website hosting service and all the services that come with mobile such as Android. Android is free to use too so there are all the trackers that are on there as well that are built into the phone themselves.
Chrome is the main browser on your phone. The difference is, on a phone the browser is a different type of app as it builds in a thing called ‘Telemetry’. Telemetry is a way of the phone itself speaking to the app though all the sensors that are connected to it on the inside. For example, when you pick your phone up it will automatically know it’s moving and, in that way it will automatically turn on ready for use.
