One More Step in Nursery

We have been so happy to welcome the children to Nursery this week, here is our celebration video.

For our families that have not yet returned to school our CSL learning will now be shared on this blog once a week. Here are three activities for next week;

1. Sharing a Meal 

Enjoying a meal with family and friends is a brilliant way for us to connect and use both our social and our communication skills. We use our words and say ‘would you like some more?’ or ‘I like hot, spicy soup’ modelling great vocabulary to our children.

In nursery we have a ‘home corner’ a place where we can be imaginative and creative. We also love role play cooking in our outdoor kitchen.

I wonder if you would like to create a meal with your friends, your family or your soft toys? 

Think about the foods you enjoy.

Which foods are healthy and good for you? 

What foods are hot and what foods are cold?

How do you lay a table and for how many people need a plate? 

2. Using Positional Language

Over, Under and Through!

We have been busy exploring the Nursery environment this week;

Can you spot who is going over, under and through in the photographs?

Can you find somewhere in your house or garden where you can explore over, under and through? Can you practice using the words too? “I am going under the table” You could do this with your toys. “My car is going through the tunnel”, "my teddy is under my pillow". Remember it is ok for your child to speak in their home language.

3. Sensory

Full or Empty?

We have really enjoyed sensory play in the sand, the water and the coloured rice.
